Pogmothoin,

TIGER WOODS went for months, and months, and months without playing (due to injury); and also won The U S Open on a broken leg; and STILL remained number one!

(623 ) weeks @ Number One !

Rory missed ONE tournament, then immediately dropped out of first place (2 weeks later)!  Logic suggests Rory's position at Number One was unjustified (if it tumbles so quickly).

Now, let me make sure EYE have this right . . .This is Bill's thread; Bill was writing to EYE; and EYE was responding to Bill . . .YOU jumped in, and began writing to EYE; then, go running to Donna Kay, when you couldn't handle my OPINION.

Don't write to me, if you can't handle the truth.

Amazing how newbies know who to cry to, or are they newbies ?

LOL

2 points.....

First, there is no such thing as a private thread.  If you post on this forum, you have to anticipate others contributing.  If you want a "private" conversation, take it off the board!

Second, calling each other names such as idiot is unacceptable, regardless of who is doing the speaking, longtime members or newbies.  STOP IT!

Paul, just realized my post above was directed to you instead of to ALL.   Sorry if it sounded like I was chastising you!

During Tiger's reign at number 1, he was winning many tournaments a year. He had such a massive lead, that a few weeks or even months of poor play would not change the rankings. heck, there was a wider spread between 1 and 2, than today between 1 and 10.

Over the past few years, no one has dominated by winning multiple majors or big events, so the changes in ranking occur, pretty quickly. It's funny right now, that if Luke does not finish 8th or higher, then Rory will retain the number 1 ranking.
