I would like to know, in light of the 100 plus countries that have been subjected to "budgetary austerity, trade liberalization and privatization", and multiple countries that have seen economic collapse and political destabilization due to WTO, IMF and World Bank procedures, is this structure good for the people of the world?

Or is it just "good for business"?

It is neither good for business or citizens. The WTO rules only serve the interests of a select group of extremely wealthy individuals. One would think this would be good enough reason to demand change to the WTO rules but apparently it is not.

Syd,

What is good fr business, is good for wealthy individuals.

Not necessarily. It may be good for select businesses but we have to face up to the fact that when looking at businesses globally, many are in difficulty as a result of trade imbalances and the financial crisis. Thus, taking the position that the WTO rules have undermined business in general is safe.
