Because Bill Scherrer, a special assisant to White Sox general manager Kenny Williams, has been at the Astros’ last two series, there has been national media speculation about the possibility of Roy Oswalt accepting a trade to Chicago.

Oswalt isn’t talking publicly about any trade speculation, but the Chronicle has learned he would not waive his no-trade clause if the White Sox attempted to acquire him. Chicago recently agreed to a trade for San Diego Padres ace Jake Peavy, but Peavy exercised his veto power."
