Investigating the neural correlates of sensorimotor skill expertise Approval Date: 11/02/2006 - 11/01/2007 PI: Dr. Sian Beilock This email is an invitation to participate in a study investigating sentence comprehension depicting a variety of situations ranging from everyday scenarios to athletic tasks. If you choose to participate, you will listen to sentences and view pictures while lying in an fMRI scanner. At the end of the scanning session you will answer a number of questions related to your performance. The entire experiment will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete, and you will receive $100 for your participation. Primary Requirements: 1. Must have no hockey playing experience (ice, roller or otherwise) 2. Must be a fan of ice hockey (attending games, watching games on TV) Other Requirements: You must also be: male, right-handed, at least 18 years of age, and a fluent speaker of English to participate. The study will take place in the: Brain Research Imaging Center University of Chicago Hospitals 5841 S.
