During the multiple post Kelly and I have traded recently concerning Corporate Personhood, they originated from a question I'd ask myself; "whats the source for the mindset fueling the debate about healhcare reform in the houses of Congress, that continues, litterally, Right now?
As I'd mentioned hearing earlier on the Washinton Journal 7am call-in show, on the 16th of Sept. Was the comment that " When these people are nolonger productive the only option that should be considered about the healthcare of the descendants of Slaves and Convicts was the grave." As I listened to this voice, I thought "this is the reason the sound of NO is so strident on one side of the aisle in these two branches of government. Why was this? Who was this person talking about, that the Republicans were acting out, via the sentiments he'd voiced?
Then I remembered something I'd read a while back about White People being the first slaves to arrive on this shore, thanks to a British mindset which fostered the initiation of the creation of Transpotation Act. A Pogram to replace hanging ,but continued to rid the British moneied Elite of the dregs of it's society and turn a profit. Thus, the rise of Penal colonies, as dumping grounds for these drergs in the Americas. I mentioned the controversal author Michael Hoffman and his "They were White and they were Slaves". Recognizing that this author had a white supremist axe to grind, I only used what he'd written to do further research, which led me to Peter Wilson Coldham and his extensive work on this topic of The British mindset and inclination to relegate persons of a working class as "Sub-Human". http://openlibrary.org/a/OL37722A/Peter_Wilson_Coldham
When the the debate regarding healthcare for the American working class and the poor continues in Congress, the view of you as sub-human, the descendants of Slaves and Convicts and not deserving of the expenditure it would take to provide you healthcare, stems from the ages old paradigm of the British Empire pogram to rid it's self of all it found undesirable.
So, as we awaite the decision from SCOTUS regarding whether Corporations are Persons or not, remember as SubHumans, only an act of Congress will promote you into that rarified realm, Corporations currently claim they deserve.
