A local villa and apartment rental company, Doorways, Ltd. found me and my boyfriend a wonderful apartment, very affordable. The Doorways staff was so nice explaining everything to us and preparting us for our trip with maps and other info. I was not sure what to expect bc we were travelling during these "fragile times". And were we surprised. The airports were not as bad as everyone says they are, (I think the people that don't travel make up these stories so the people that do travel get stuck at home with them...) and the apartment was in a great location, we walked everywhere and the Italians were so nice. We stayed in the Vasari Apartment in Florence - great for couples, we even had a terrace to sip our cafes on in the morning. I can't wait to go back to Italy. I miss it already.
