http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=schefter_adam&id=4623504 TO leads the league in drop passes with 9. He has been targeted 50 times and caught 23 for 281 yards and 1 TD with a per catch average of 12.2 yards. Miles Austin leads the league in not dropping passes because he has dropped 0 balls. Zero!!! He has been targeted 42 times and caught 26 for 563 yards and 6 TDs with a per catch average of 21.7 yards. We miss you TO! Not. TO, you made Tony Romo the QB that he is. Not. lol |

amusing post. True? Not! While Miles Austin has had success in the Dallas offense, TO was a game changer. In Buffalo TO is getting older, and has little to no talent around him. In Dallas TO put up 38 td's in three seasons. That is ridiculous stats! TO made Romo look good at times, although TO's own selfish ways cause him to self destruct in the end. The big problem with TO in Dallas was Jason Garret in my opinion. Garrett put too much emphasis on getting TO the ball and making him happy. Garrett this year has managed a more balanced offensive attack. The Cowboys are running the ball a lot more effectively, which is setting up big plays through play action. Garrett was too pass happy during TO's tenure. Don't be in the dark...TO wants to win more than anybody. And, at this point in his career he has little patience for anything else. Austin has played well, but a lot of that is contributed to the running game and the fact that the offesive line is finally playing good and protecting Romo. |

| I don't know, warewolf. Every time somebody remarks about Romo not having won a playoff game, the excuse is that he's only started 44+ games in the NFL. Now you want to compare a WR who had 3 good games to a WR who had a pretty stellar 10+ year career. What's up with that? |

I know that it may be an unfair comparison. However, answer yourself these questions. Do the Cowboys appear to miss Owens in their lineup? Does Miles Austin bring as much explosion to the lineup as TO? (I actually think Miles Austin is faster than TO) It will be years before we can actually tell if Austin is a good replacement for TO. However, the results are looking good in the beginning. And to top it off, all of TO's drama went with him. Austin does not cause any problems in the lockeroom and is always smiling. He is a gym rat to top it off, not that TO work ethic could ever be questioned. Also, I am comparing the Austin of today to the TO of today. If TO would have come back to Dallas this year then we would have had a 36 year old malcontent that has lost a step and has a tendency to drop passes and throw teammates and coaches under the bus. I don't believe that TO is an elite WR anymore. I'm not comparing Austin to a young TO. Btw, how sweet is it to have your starting QB (Romo) and #1 WR (Austin) come to the NFL via undrafted rookie free agents. These guys had to work their way up the ladder. A guy from Eastern Illinois and a guy from Monmouth University. |

RE: Only 44+ games What kind of excuse is that?? Big Ben went practically undefeated his 1st yr and almost made the SB....won it in his 2nd. Flacco went to the AFCCG as well as a rookie....those excuses for Romo are lame....I'd rather hear Jessica kept him up all night....atleast THAT I would understand... Inexperience isn't an excuse for Romo. However, football is a team game. Roethlisberger and Flacco had some damn and I mean damn good defenses helping them out in their first years in the league. Example: The Steelers were #1 in points allowed last year with 13.9, the Ravens were #2 with 15.3, and Dallas was #8 with 22.8. Also, Garrett has been infatuated with a pass happy offense even though he has 3 pretty dang good RBs. When Pittsburgh had good RBs they used them and took the pressure of Roethlisberger. Garrett likes putting the whole offense on Romo and the passing game. I will say that this year Garrett has been running the ball a lot more and it has seemed to help Romo out the last few games. Coaching and the team around a QB play a big role in their success. Romo has had players around him but those guys never played as a team and don't even get me started on Dallas' coaches.

>>>....I'd rather hear Jessica kept him up all night....atleast THAT I would understand...<<< I don't think Romo has it in him to "stay up" all night. If you know what I mean. Even with Jessica. I hear Romo had to call T.O. from Cabo for instuctions. T.O. told him to take the hardest thing he can find put it where she pees. Romo went and got a bowling ball and put it in the toilet.

>>> Does Miles Austin bring as much explosion to the lineup as TO? <<< I don't know if Austin brings explosion to the lineup. He had 250 yards and 2 TDs against the Chiefs. Then dropped the following week to 171 yards for 2 TDs. Then dropped the following week to 61 yards and 1 TD. He exploded for 2 games. Don't get me wrong, I like Austin and his attitude. And his willingness to learn and be coached. I read the other day that Irvin was at TC giving pointers to the WRs. Austin took heed, RW didn't. For example, Irvin told them to anticipate the snap count. Austin is 4 yards into his route while RW is just getting off the LOS. That's what I read anyway. |

Dallas spread the ball around in the Seattle and Atlanta games. They realize that they need all the receivers involved to make this thing work. You limit an offense when you become too reliant on 1 or 2 players. In Seattle they had 10 different players catch balls and in Atlanta they had 8 different players catch balls. I think the two things hurt Dallas on offense last year. First off were the enormous amount of injuries. Second was their reliance on the game going through two players (TO & Witten) and not getting other players involved in the game. Dallas does not need Miles Austin being the hero every week. They need multiple people stepping up and being players. In the coming weeks keep your eyes on a kid named Kevin Ogletree (WR). Especially, if RW continues to struggle. He will be on the active roster this week and was on it last week. He actually had a 19 yard reception in very limited playing time last week. They believe he may be a hidden gem (rookie free agent signee).

| What I love about this situation? For the 1st time in TO's career, HE REALLY DOES HAVE A CRAPPY QUARTERBACK! I'll bet right now he'd give anything to have Garcia/Mcnabb/Romo back. |

| His QB is even going to look worse in a month when the winds are swirling in Buffalo and he is throwing the ball through the wet and frozen snow. I hope TO takes some bone rattling hits in that 10 degree freezing cold weather. He will be begging for the offseason so he can get back to the warm weather in Miami. |
