Great game for the Birds..this was as dominant victory over the Giants that I can recall...in fact; This was the largest margin of victory that an Andy Reid team has had over the G-Men.

5 POSTIVIES:

1. Donovan McNabb: 17/23, 240yds, 3tds...This was a game where Donovan came out zinging the ball with authority AND accuracy. He moved well in the pocket and really kept his unity focused the entire game. Nice distribution to DJax 3-78-1td; Celek 4-61-1; Maclin 4-47-1; and Avant 2-32...Great Game 5!!!

2. A Real Running Game!: This is what we've been waiting for. They Birds came out running the ball and taking advantage of the huge offensive line. Leonard Weaver, 11-75-1, busted one for 41 early and seemed to gain at least 3-4 yards with every carry. LeSean McCoy, had a big td run for 66 yards and finished 11-82-1 for the day.

The pass/run ratio was 23/24...and HEAR ME OUT PEOPLE, THE BIRDS DID NOT RUN A BALANCED ATTACK TO PROTECT THE LEAD! They ran the ball with purpose and reaped the benefits.

3. Passing Offense: I've already mentione the individual numbers. I'll just follow this up by saying that "This is the type of performance that I've anticipated with all the high-powered weapons this team has".

4. Great Defensive Effort: They held Brandon Jacobs to 88 yards. That was a key for me. The Fox crew kept making a point of mentioning how they made Jacobs stop moving his feet. The Giants moved the ball, but didn't get the points needed to keep up with the offense. Good physical game from Witherspoon and Sean Jones.

5. Special Teams: It was an all around team effort and I'll include Sav Rocca's punting 3/44. Expecially after the Giants made a move, Rocca and the coverage backed them up deep inside their own territory. Akers had a successful game as well other than the missed PAT.

5 NEGATIVES:

1. Blocked passes: Don't know what the fix for these are. There were what 4 or 5 of those. Donovan appeared to have a low release point for some of his passes and the offensive linemen didn't engage the defenders when they went up for the block.

2. Quintin Mikell: Has to catch those gimme INTs.

3. Brian Westbrook: I'm really stretching here...he was a game time scratch.

4. Raiders and Saints: They'd be 7-0 now without those humiliating losses.

5. Cole Hamels: "Can't wait until the season is over."

Let me add that J. Hanson was picked on all day by the Giants.

1 more positive... Donovan's receiving hands. He saved a TD, and made a nice play at the same time!

Jesus hates the Yankees

Donovan complained that he never got the ball thrown to him...well, he finally has his reception.

Hope thanks for always talking about what is important the game. Don't get enough of this arounf here. But I agree with all of the positives but look closer at the run and realize it was better on 2 plays the rest of the way 17 carries for 50 from the 2 backs. That still needs to improve.

Pass protection from line was outstanding save 2-3 plays. Second week in a row for the same line, looks like it's finally gelling to me. But next week will be the real test.

On the positives, the pass rush kept Eli off balance or under pressure all day, setting up the INTs.

Negatives. If I'm going to be picky, it's this. This was a great win, but it was all big plays. One day it rains 40+ yard plays, another day it doesn't. Red zone was 1 for 3 I think. Offense hasn't yet marched anywhere.

Again, just being picky, but this is the sort of performance that leads to those drive killing low percentage bombs.

I don't know about low percentages, because this is a big play team. I understand the ball control approach they had last year. They were great between the 2o's until they go into the redzone. I think the biggest thing everyone is missing was the game plan was great and well executed. I also am happy that there was a committment to running the football. I like the Shady/Weaver combo....Westy stay gone a little while longer...lol....Shady needs carries to get comfortable, and Weaver needs carries to earn AR's confidence.

Does anyone remember the dink and dunk Eagles with Small/Johnson or Thrash/Pinkston....these guys could barely get separation.

We have a couple of burners (Jackson/Maclin) and great play underneath (Avant/Celek) we need to continue to run the football to improve in the redzone!

Great points about the OL...AR said the Winston Justice as physical today and held his own. That was big. I think Peters got beat twice; Peters looks like he's getting into shape.

They don't have to be a ground it out type running attack to be effective. Making teams respect the possiblity of the run helps the entire offense.

I really wasn't concerned about the big plays even against the Skins. On Monday night Donovan connected with Maclin 5 times for 57 yards.

As long as they can run the ball effectively and actually makes an effort to be blanced they should be fine.

Can't blame them for DJax being wide open. And the Maclin TD came with only 1:05 left in the first half.

We can't fault them for being beautiful.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not concerned at all about the big plays. It's more that I'm concerned b/c the team hasn't yet shown ball control drive (even today, Jints held the ball longer). Points wins games, obviously, but some games a winning team needs to grind it out. Remember Oakland? Big plays weren't there.

agree all the way but I don't know if next week will be the "real test"-- dallas' line MIGHT be equal to the giants' but it's definitely not better; the only real rusher they have is ware; bradie james is streaky and anthony spencer is already a first round bust (and so's bobby carpenter). Jay Ratliff is pretty good, that's it, ware and ratliff in their front seven--I'll take our o-line over their front seven any day of the week

I would disagree...but I guess I'm crazy like that. 14-0 lead from jump...3 TD lead most of the way.

13-9 lost to Raiders means season's over boys....we're just fighting for draft status now.

They ran from the beginning and that set up the pass. Today they actually ran one more time than they passed. That's no where near the 70% passing that they've done in the past.

I think this is being blown way outta proportion.

It's true that it was 2 runs, but the fact that it wasnt amazing and they stuck with it to get those breakout runs makes me happy

About the big plays- what do you want these guys to do- run out of bounds after 10 yards so they control the clock? If the plays are there they must take them.

The Saints are just good. We dumped the bed against the Raiders. We should be 6-1, but no matter, lets just go for 6-2.
Utah! get me two.

they've rushed from the get go in a few games...this time someone popped a big run.

our 2nd drive from the 10 yard line after a turnover 1 run / 3 passes....but hey...I guess I don't understand balance.
