Leased my 2005 LR3 HSE in February '05.  The vehicle has a great ride, great sound system, is extremely quiet, extremely solid, and it's off-road ride and capabilities are exceptional.   No jarring or rattling, like my previous 2000 Dodge Durango.

Downside would be several glitches with the numerous electronic features.  The voice activated radio control rarely recognizes my command and is worthless.  The voice activated navigation works ok.   Occasionally the rear park control does not activate until I am almost touching an object, then is blares a continuous warning, but, of course, this is too late.   Speed control does a poor job of maintaining a constant speed on anything but a flat surface.  Heater never seems warm enough on very cold days.  But, by far, the most aggravating item on this vehicle is the speed and moisture sensative automatic windshield wipers.    You cannot adjust them to a slower speed or even a suitable intermediate wipe mode when traveling at speed.   They always wipe faster than needed, which results in the beautiful wiper blade window screech that we all know and love.   I have to switch the wipers off and then manually activate the 1-wipe feature every time its needed in order to retain my sanity.   And this is not acceptible in a $53,000 vehicle.   As silly as it seems, this one lousy feature and the poor speed control may make me look elsewhere when my lease is up.   I notified Land Rover via several emails on their website, but never received a response.

well, don't hold your breath waiting for Land Rover to reply!!  they have never responded to me either, even though it resulted in an accident and $7000 worth of damage.  i finally took my lumps and bought a Lexus LX470.  way, way better service and dealer response. when i got the Lexus, i went to the Land Rover dealer in Centerville Utah and looked at his back lot.  they must have had 50 LR3's.  the shop kid said they were all waiting for various warranty issues.  it's a great car, it just needs a couple of years to work out the many problems.  and a better factory/dealer system.  for a luxury SUV, they really miss out on customer care.
