We would like to announce that we will soon be ending the AWS 4.0 beta. During the next week, you will receive details on the official AWS 4.0 launch.
We would like to thank you for your contributions and participation in the AWS 4.0 beta test. Your usage of the service and your feedback has been invaluable in helping us identify bugs and improve the AWS 4.0 API and create a better experience for our entire developer community.
Here are some important steps you must take to prepare your applications for the transition from beta to general availability.
1) Service Name change - You will need to modify the Service Name parameter in your application from AWSProductData to AWSECommerceService. We realize that you may take some time to implement this change in your application. In order to make this transition as easy as possible, we will continue supporting the AWSProductData for a short duration.
2) REST/WSDL Endpoints – You will need to modify your application to connect to webservices.amazon.com instead of aws-beta.amazon.com. For other locales, the new endpoints are webservices.amazon.co.uk, webservices.amazon.de and webservices.amazon.co.jp.
3) Naming – You no longer need to label your AWS 4.0 applications with “beta” and you may now release any applications built on top of AWS 4.0.
If you have any questions about these changes, please post a message on the AWS discussion board.
We thank you again for your contributions to the AWS 4.0 beta test, and we look forward to your continued participation in the AWS program!
Best regards,
The Amazon Web Services Team
