| I've only just noticed these sponsored links on the Amazon product pages, entitled -
Customers Viewing This Page May Be Interested in These Sponsored Links.
Do you think it would be more fair if Amazon removed this leakage point for visitors sent through an affiliate link?
For the associate, the presence of sponsored links can mean lost sales, but for Amazon they're a source of extra income, which really isn't fair. This is especially true where out of stock items are involved. If the sponsored links were not there, there would be more chance that the visitor would stay on the Amazon site and search for an alternative product.
The fair thing to do here would be to hide these links when a visitor was referred by an affiliate link or pay the affiliate a share of the CPC revenue.

They have been doing that for some time. The problem I had was using Googleads which sent traffic to my site who then clicked on my Amazon link to arrive at a page which had my ad displayed (by arrangement with Google) and off round the cycle they went again. Can you imagine how peed off your customers can get and how your marketing costs can soar? I took it up with both Google and Amazon who just gave me a straight bat. Never forget we are just minnows feeding some pretty big fish!! RGDS Hugh |

| Wow, that ad clicking loop sounds frightening! I take it you stopped the campaign? |
