Amazon.co.uk Associates Discussion Board

General -  Banners are out of date... again!

Well, history is repeating itself!

I'm expecting a shouty email any day soon from Amazon to all Associates telling us off for having out of date creative!

Today it would seem Amazon has cut the £5 minimum spend for super saver delivery but has not updated any of the banners in the central.

They all say free super saver delivery if you spend over £5.

Now you or I might think it would be a simple job to update the text on a few banners, but as we found out early this year Amazon don't actually know where all the banners are stored so tracking them down to be changed isn't as easy as we might think!

I wonder if this will be updated before Christmas. - Last time it took months for the A-Team to change the prices!

Regards,

Keith

I contacted Amazon about the issues and here is the reply:

Dear Associate

Thank you for writing to the Amazon.co.uk Associates Programme.

In relation to your below query, I am sorry that the graphics have not yet been updated on all categories to reflect the change in our "Free Super Saver Delivery" option. I have raised the issue with our programmers and designers.

I agree that this is a matter of urgency which needs to be resolved quickly and efficiently and I expect that they will strive to do so.

Thank you for highlighting this issue to us and, again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

If you require any additional assistance or information please use the following link to contact us again

Greetings,

banners reflecting Free delivery can be found here:

https://affiliate-program.amazon.co.uk/gp/associates/network/build-links/banner/get-html.html?category=offers

The easy link banners should be updated by the end of this week.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Regards,
Nigel

Nigel, it is good amazon uk is starting to update _SOME_ of the links, although since they had _ADVANCED_ notice of the change it should have been ready from the Day the change was announced or became active as an AUTOMATIC update to what we display on our sites... SAME AS when it changes back AFTER the offer ends. Otherwise OUR sites can fall foul of UK trading standards laws, as does amazon uk.

When will "Recommended Product Links" and "keyword links", plus the other banners SUPPLIED and served from amazon servers be ready? as it is against Amazon's TOS to display out of date banners etc on our sites even if severed from Amazon's servers ?

PS.
please stick to one one name of Nigel, rather than AAA or N.Rouse etc, and not keep changing it or how do we know you are not an "expendable" user name?

YOUR replies should always have the amazon staff moderator "hammer" showing.

"amazon staff moderator "hammer""

Do you think there is any significance in the choice of icon?

Come to think of it I always thought it was a screw!!

Forgive the metaphor, but perhaps you can use the "hammer" to "beat the dead horse".

I couldn't resist.

looks like i got it wrong :) it's not a hammer it's a GAVEL or so it's file name says.

I can see why you may have thought it was a screw tho for all sorts of reasons ;-)

Maybe when we get that new forum program to use it will be easier... or maybe they have forgotten that again ?

Hi All,

I wonder how many of you still have out-of-date banners?
