General -  Bog standard Alibris question.

I was on Alibris for a while and left for a few reasons, one of which was the centralised system.  All orders had to go through UPS to its hub in the states, including UK orders which crossed the Atlantic twice.

I know UK orders are now sent directly.  What happens to international orders?  Do UK sellers send them directly to the buyer or do they still go via UPS?

Which ones go to Sparks?  And you can tell UPS which day to come? (You couldn't before)

All European orders are sent direct to the customer, I forget the exact amount you are allowed for postage but it is similar to Amazon's.

All other international orders are consolidated each week and sent to Alibris via UPS.

Apart from if you are on the B&N programme then you send these air mail to the buyer and are given $18.00 postage.

You decide the day UPS pick up from you.

Those that Alibris wish to process and deliver - e.g. library orders where they may be under contractual conditions for delivery. Yes, you call the Alibris automated service the day before. Has always worked fine for me.

I order my collection online - usually for each Thursday and I can order it for the same day up to 3pm that day. OR you can order it in advance - not sure how long as I always do it the day I need it. They haven't let me down yet. I never see them as I leave my parcel in a pre-arranged place which cannot be seen.

I have sent international orders directly to Australia (I am sure - but my memory is fallible and I may be confusing it with Biblio).

But on reflection I am sure you are correct that ALL North American orders go to Sparks and my earlier comment was wrong. I have less than 1000 listed there and the orders are not that frequent.

I tried that and couldn't get it to work but that was ages ago. Interesting that you can leave it that late. Will experiment next time I get an order. Thanks for the tip.

FYI - I requested discount when I joined - they waived the annual fee, plus gave 2 months free - sorry if you know already.
