 General -  OT: JOB ANYONE?

After having moved over to Durham to be near my husband's work, he has now lost his job...

So if anyone knows of any Warehouse Manager or Hygiene Manager jobs going (preferably in the North East or Sheffield) PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!  (Actually he would take anything temporarily just so there was some money coming in).  Things are going to get pretty desperate quickly with still not having sold the house in Egremont and having just bought this one!

Many thanks.

Sue

I am so sorry to hear that Sue, that is such a shame. These are very hard times. I live the wrong side of the Pennines to offer any help, but if I see anything in Manchester I will let you know.

Sorry to hear about your husband's job loss. I hope he finds something else soon. A good site to look at online is Jobcentreplus. If you type that into google, the site will come up. Good luck.

Hi Sue

Agree with Lesley on the job centre site. Very good and easy to use.

Also you will find links to agencies which might be one way forward as I know they are always looking out for temps in your OH 's line.

Frances.

Oh my... You both have our sympathies; Malcolm has now been out of work for 6 months, just picking up the odd HSE job here and there, not even enough to decrease his job seekers (princely sum of £90 pw).

Like you, we have a huge mortgage still and I fear the time is coming when we will lose the house.  Still, no kids at home, just us and the animals so I suppose I shouldn't grumble.

All the same, I know that horrible greasy, queasy feeling that comes over you when you begin to consider the alternatives - at the moment, my mind just refuses to dwell on it and whenever I get an attack of the OMGs I find myself reading some stupid fantasy or watching CSI - anything but the real world.

I do hope you find something soon.  Maybe the government will stop talking about all the help they're giving 'those people with houses to buy' and actually do something - oh, right, sorry!  That's a scene from one of those fantasy books I read...

Liz
