General -  Why Did He Buy My More Expensive Book?

Hi
I have just sold a book for £60 to the USA; good news I thought. Then I notice that there were two much cheaper books from Amazon.co.uk (one of which was from a US Seller). Then I notice that Amazon.com has the same book from $5.

Advice please

Were they in the same condition? Maybe it was feedback thing? Maybe they didn't like the US seller? - I'm sure we've all got sellers we wouldn't buy off.

I've sold two books in the last ten days on consecutive days,  both of which were about twice the price of the cheapest which were listed as being in similar condition to mine.  Both went to buyers new to me, so not repeats by a previously satisfied customer.  My rating was slightly higher than the other sellers, but they had a lot more feedback in total. So, no obvious reason why I was chosen unless one believes in 'switched on, switched off' which I fervently do since the advent of Seller Central.

Only two things are certain on Amazon:

1. I sell far fewer books since Seller Central than previous.

2. I never sell anything at a weekend since Seller Central.

So, on the now rare occasions I do make a sale, I rejoice and don't wonder 'why me?' for long.  To re-phrase slightly an old saying, 'There's nowt so queer as folk and Amazon'.

Thanks for various replies.
My book doesn't seem to be better than others for sale, my feedback is VG etc but so have some other sellers

Maybe bought by a UK buyer to be posted to someone in America? (Stupidly) I wouldn't think to look on .com if I was buying a book.

It happens, and we will never know why !

Yesterday I sold a book for £17.95, there were 3or 4  round about £10 less, sellers on same fb as me (99%), and all with good descriptions - I am just glad they chose mine.

that often happens to me, customer buys my more expensive dvd and not amazons cheap option

perhaps they want customer service and not a dvd loose inside an enormous oversized bag.

with amazon its cheap but sometimes not that good to be honest
