I watch as well although I hate cooking. The one I remember most is when a contestant gave low marks because she wanted to win. I think she gave a mostly 2's. She had to re -mark in the end.

My daughters away on a school trip so Ive got the computer to myself, not as happy as I thought I would be though.

I think many of the marks are tactical. Am under no illusions about that!

Just like and enjoy the substance of the show.

Antonia

forgot to ask - why are you not happy? A curious remark.

My daughter and her fiance, (now husband), came to stay with us for 4 months this summer as their new house was being built. We all love the programme so much that we all took it in turns to do 'come dine with me' nights.
It was brilliant fun and now they've moved into their new house, we've said we'll do the same thing again next year!
My daughter won by the way and I came last...but then I did give everyone a ten out of ten, which no-one else did!

I remember that particular woman as well, particularly as she lived in North London if I remember (where I live also) and thought it was very good that they made her mark again.

I do think that if you cook on the first evening then it isn't in your favour at all. I am always amazed how people get their timings all wrong, surely they must test them out for weeks beforehand? Well, I would anyway, but then I wouldn't go on it. Another annoying person was the Mancunian guy who seemed to pick on one of the women in the group, quite ferociously.

I have heard of people having CDWM evenings amongst themselves and marking each other, sounds like fun.

Funny how they mark each other in the cab on the way home (on the programme), usually off their heads after too much red wine!

Mancunian?

Hopefully not Mike Don or John Holden surely!

North London? I thought you were a Scottish lady!!! I used to live in NW4 ...

It was just that I'm always fighting with Annie to get on the computer and thought with her away on holiday I would take advantage of the peace but then I missed her all of a sudden, she was a bit worried about sharing a room with 7 other girls and only knowing 2. Hopefully she's having a great time getting to know everyone. I havent had a phone call so that's a good sign.

I agree I can't remember many winning if they have been 1st to cook. I think many hold off giving good scores untill they sample a few of the rest. The wine consumed has made a few change there marks the next day some up and some down. Have you watched the celebrity ones? I have but I much prefer the ordinary folks.

When my twin sons went off to uni a few years back, I had the most awful empty nest syndrome, I thought I would be loving all the space etc but now they are both back home!

I am not keen on the celebrity episodes either, much prefer 'real' people cooking, much more interesting.
