A somewhat belated postscript to this sad episode. The chap who is the subject of this thread.... has just now discovered that he has received bad buyer feedback and is in a bit of a strop about it.
He has sent me this - "hi, i see you destroy my name thank you! i report amazon about this, that you treat me like s**t is onacceptable! so mark your words!"
(I have asterisked out the offence).

Sounds a little threatening to me... so I will report it to Amazon on Monday. He has sent it via Amazon so they will have a copy of it.

My feedback was actually quite mild (if a bit sarcastic)
"1 out of 5: "Sorry this brand new and expensive cd reached you in poor condition and even sorrier that it appeared to get lost in the post on its return journey back to me."
Date: 7 August 2009 Rated by Seller:"

What's the worst he can do? Try buying another cd off me and negging me back I suppose (he can't neg me for this episode as it was back in May).

And how many buyers ever look at their buyer feedback on Amazon?

Not many certainly. Its taken him a while to find it. But I think he has had several complaints made against him... and that is why he has found it.

Only those who know they've been messing a seller around and fear the repercussions.

Sorry to appear such an ignoramus (I'm a newbie), but I didn't know you could leave feedback for buyers. I can't see anywhere to do that.... help! :)

Sorry! I've gone and looked and seen it in View Your Orders. That must be why I haven't received any feedback for the four books I've sold, since I haven't yet left any! :O)

I must have bought well over 500 books and DVDs on markeplace - I have 2 feedback - both dating from 6 years ago from new sellers. Draw your own conclusions from that. Most sellers do not leave buyer feedback unless the want to warn other sellers and most buyers don't know they have feedback.

Most folk here don't usually bother leaving feedback for buyers, unless there is a problem. Few buyers know it exists, either; scam artists on CD and DVD sales are the exception!

Sadly, the reverse is also true. Most buyers don't bother leaving feedback for sellers unless there's a problem. :o(

I must admit, I didn't know buyer feedback existed.... and I can't even find mine! lol

I always leave feedback for a seller when I've bought something.... I think it's so bad mannered not to.
